Bull terrier or myth of killer

Again and again our valorous journalists are drawing a picture of dangerous breeds of so called "fight dogs". Over and over again they say to restrict this breed import and breeding itself. They are hollering about severe danger the habitants are exposed on every corner. And somehow it is Bull terrier's fault. It's quite weird as its population has reasonably decreased since 1990s. They are pretty rare in the country. The popularity of a Staffordshire or a Pit bull terrier caused the absence of "a pig dog", "a rat dog" or "the killer" not only at the street but also you can hardly find this dog at exhibitions.

Ladies and gentlemen, to tell you the truth I'm quite biased towards this matter. I like this breed and have already got three dogs as I don't know any breed as charming and sweet as this one. Every bull is an individual, a character, an intellectual unit. I'm not playing with you around and not trying to delude you somehow, I'm just saying that it's the part of the family. And if you've already had such dog, you have to treat to it properly. The same as you do not limit the care about your child to simple feeding and diaper changing because you're doing more, you're bringing up your kid – you have to bring up your bull. If you've spent your precious time for dog upbringing, you will get a friend, a companion and a bodyguard. Remember the simple rule: there're no stupid or mean dogs, there're stupid and mean dog owners; and owing to owner's stupidity and irresponsibility the innocent and the dog itself always suffer.
A bull terrier is willful and wayward. It demands a lot of your attention, time and efforts applied. It's not a logy bum, but a smart and brave gentleman loyal to its owner and aware of its place in the family hierarchy.
Thankfully, times when it was bought with the only purpose to be exterminated have passed. Now we've got other modern and sophisticated techniques of fighting against a breed failure. It makes us hope that a few of Bull terriers left in the country have got the owners they deserve. This is the reason of my hostility towards the journalists are engaging in sensationalism so that are feeding the public with their scary stories involving this pet. I must admit that the bull is different from the York, it's different from the Pekingese. I must admit that it's got a huge potential of a fighter. But the fight is not dog's goal. In most cases fights happen because of dog's narrow-minded owners.
Thousands of people die in car crashes annually. However, nobody demands to prohibit driving cars or flying aircrafts. People die because of careless behavior with weapon as well as in the production; they die from alcoholism and drugs. So what's so special about dog stories that they are so dramatized by journalists? Maybe the reason is that in this case it's easier to find the guilty in stupidity, laziness and carelessness of people themselves. They say the breed matters and it's just the way the dog is. But let me remind you, dear writers, that there's also a human factor. It's a pure-bred dog, a display breed which by default means that this dog can't be dangerous. It's not safe to give a ten-year old boy a gun or let him ride a motorcycle or drive a car. In the same way it's not safe to let someone bring up and look after such a serious dog as this one.
I'm not going to lavish with praises on a Bull terrier any more. Who knows at least something about this dog, they will be on the same wavelength. The claim is referred to careless journalists, "Stop making the animal guilty in human's fault". It doesn't deserve that, trust me.
