How to bath your pet?

Your pet's hair is an important factor and indicator of its health. It is extremely important to know how and when to bath your pet. There're several advices on how to look after your dog, cat, chinchilla or any other pet you might have:

First of all, train your pet to get used to every day procedure of looking after its hair. Talk to your little friend while you're bathing it or combing its hair. This way you will make it feel safe and not being afraid during awful procedures.

Cut its nails before bathing. This way you will protect yourself against scratches while bathing.

Use the particular equipment for this procedure and remember that the blood vessels and nerves are located at the bottom of its nails. So, it's advisable to go to your vet before cutting its nails for the first time just to make sure that you won't hurt your animal.

One of the biggest mistakes of pet owners is that all of them don't untwine pet's hair before washing it. You have to comb and clean its hair before bathing as wet hair is hard to untwine and the animal might suffer from pain and discomfort.

Use special combs and brushes which are suitable for your pet's hair.

There're special plastic brushes for short-haired animals not to hurt their skin whereas for long-haired animals, it's better to use a special comb with long teeth to untwine the hair better.

Eyes and ears of your dog must be washed regularly at the specific time. To wash its ears you should use a special cotton pellet wetted into alcohol. Be careful and don't push it in too deep not to injure the ear of your pet.

If its eyes are watering, it's recommended to wipe them with a cotton pellet which you can buy at the pet shop.
