How to toilet train your kitten?

2499.jpgA kitten is a living creature which partly reminds a baby. Not so long ago a mother cat took care of its feeding and grooming. That is why, when a kitten appears in a new environment, it feels embarrassed, it does not understand what is going on and that it needs to use a litter box as a toilet. A litter box for a kitten is a new and unknown thing and it simply does not know what to do with this object and what is the purpose of it. To make a kitten use an appropriate place for a toilet and not a "comfortable one", you should teach it to do this. Naturally, the question appears, "How to train it to do this? A kitten does not understand what is said to him, it is not a human being but a small animal!"
Firstly, cat owners need patience. A baby does not use a pot at once as well. Attentive parents gradually train their baby to use a new object and only after that a child can realize intuitively what to do with it. The same strategy works with kittens.
To get a positive result, you have to purchase a new litter box for your lovely pet. The old or already exploited one cannot be used as it has other animal's smell which might scare away the kitten. Then, buy a special toilet filling. The best to buy is a fine factional lavender-flavored filling. Lavender flavor attracts cats and your kitten may get interested in the toilet by itself.
Remember that you should not seat your kitten on the toilet filled with sand, especially if the sand is wet. Toilet filling must be dry and have an indoor temperature. A cold toilet filling might also scare off an animal and then it will be even scared to come close to the litter box.
2500.jpgTry to put your kitten to the litter box quite often even if you think it does not want to pee. An often contact with a litter box will make it pee in the right place. When you see your animal is restless and looking for some "comfortable place" (usually this place are room corners), it's high time to postpone all your work and put your pet to the toilet. Even if it tries to leave the litter box, be patient and bring it back, even though, it may take 30 minutes of your precious time.
If your kitten keeps emphatically refusing to use the toilet, find a well-known puddle, wipe it out with a toilet paper or sift it with a toilet filling and sweep it on a dustpan to fill with it a litter box. A familiar odor will attract your cat's attention and help to use the toilet.
Clean thoroughly every spot where a kitten has left droppings using cleansers without chlorine (as it attracts cats). It is recommended to put orange or lemon peels on "ex-puddles". Cats do not like this smell.Every time you, for instance, go to the toilet, take your kitten with you and try to seat it on its toilet.  If a kitten understands at least something, he will start using its litter box in several days.
Do not forget to praise your kitten if it has completed its task in the right place. Animals also understand and appreciate your kindness and care. and you will certainly not have your shoes wet
